FOOD FOR REDUCING TRIGLYCERIDES

A) Food to eat

1. Foods containing omega-3 fatty acids – choose fatty fish for ≥ 2 meals per week (mackerel, salmon, sardines, tuna, herring and trout)

2. Vegetarian foods that are rich in omega-3 fatty acids are chia seeds, hemp seeds, flax seeds, walnuts, rajma beans (unprocessed)

3. Lots of non-starchy vegetables; Mushrooms & leafy vegetables such as cauliflower, kale

4th Eat fruits that contain less fructose; like melon, grapefruit, strawberries, bananas, peaches

5. Whole grains rich in fiber

B) Foods to Avoid

1. Avoid sugary drinks. Switch to sparkling water with a splash of lime juice. Or try a spicy herbal and iced tea mixture that tastes great even without added sugar

2. Avoid excessive alcohol

3. Starchy vegetables like corn, peas, and potatoes

4th Canned foods like baked beans or even fish

5. Refined grain
